NASA's Office of Space Science is organizing a workshop for the Living With A Star (LWS) Program, specifically targeting the second Space Environment Testbed (SET). Scheduled for September 11-12, 2003, in Greenbelt, Maryland, the workshop aims to gather requirements from a broad range of participants including industry, government agencies, research centers, and universities. The SET projects are designed to develop models, tools, and databases that enhance understanding and mitigation of space environment effects stemming from solar variability on spacecraft and Earth-based technologies. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register by September 4, 2003, and detailed information including registration and agenda is available on the LWS SET website. The workshop will focus on refining investigation requirements that will guide a NASA Research Announcement planned for release in 2004, with flight opportunities anticipated starting in 2007. Discussions will also explore partnership opportunities, distinguishing between experiment partners, who may share some flight costs and receive partial NASA funding, and program partners, who will engage through exchange of goods and services without direct NASA funding but participate more actively in program decisions. Prospective partners are expected to provide detailed information about their investigations, readiness, cost estimates, and collaboration approaches. This collaborative workshop seeks to foster coordinated efforts to advance space environment research aligned with NASA's objectives under the LWS program.

SUBJECT: NASA LIVING WITH A STAR SPACE ENVIRONMENT TESTBEDS REQUIREMENTS WORKSHOP The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Office of Space Science is sponsoring a workshop to seek requirements for investigation providers and partners from all industry, government agencies, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and universities for its second Space Environment Testbed (SET) as part of the Living With A Star (LWS) Program. The SET projects focus on performing investigations that produce models, tools, and databases that will improve the accommodation or mitigation of space environment and effects due to solar variability on technology used in spacecraft and on the ground. This workshop will take place on September 11 and 12, 2003 at the Marriott Greenbelt, Greenbelt, MD. Registration, accommodation information, and agenda can be found under the LWS SET website, http://lws-set.gsfc.nasa.gov. Individuals and/or corporations planning to attend are requested to pre-register by September 4, 2003 by completing the electronic registration form provided under the LWS SET website. Workshop products are intended to refine the requirements for LWS SET investigations that include data collected in space. The requirements will be used to develop a NASA Research Announcement (NRA) in 2004 for investigations that include a flight opportunity as early as 2007. Specific information describing requirements used in the last LWS SET NRA is posted on the LWS SET web site. The LWS SET flight opportunities are planned in two-year intervals. In this workshop, we will also conduct discussions on potential partnership opportunities for LWS SET. Two categories of partners are sought: experiment partners and program partners. Experiment partners will be responsible for portions or all of the costs associated with their specific investigations, and NASA may provide a portion of the funding and/or a flight opportunity. NASA will provide no direct funding to Program Partners; however, NASA and the Program Partners will exchange goods and services, and the Program Partners will take a larger role in the decision-making processes for the LWS SET Program. Potential Experiment and Program Partners attending the workshop are requested to provide the following information at the workshop: a. A description of the preliminary requirements for an investigation; b. A description of how their suggested investigations can address the preliminary requirements; c. An assessment of the readiness for flight of their investigation in the 2007-2008 timeframe; d. A description of the scenario for data collection in space to support their suggested investigations; e. An estimate of the cost for providing the investigation including the cost of the flight experiment; and, f. An identification of approaches for partnering to support the investigation. A form requesting this information will be located at the LWS SET web site. Questions concerning the workshop should be directed to Chikia S. Barnes at the LWS SET Office, +1 (555) 000-0000 or via e-mail: contact@example.gov. LINKURL: http://lws-set.gsfc.nasa.gov EMAILADD: contact@example.gov

Enabling Technology for Future Missions
Solicitation # 9F063-20260085
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is soliciting proposals under the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) to develop and advance one to three priority technologies intended to reduce technical uncertainties for future Canadian space missions. This fixed-price procurement focuses on increasing Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) in accordance with CSA-ST-GDL-0001 Revision A guidelines. The identified priority technologies include a lightweight athermal reflecting telescope for CubeSats, readout electronics for large mosaic focal plane arrays, and technologies for the Ground Snow Mass Mission, with maximum funding per contract ranging from 1 million to 2 million Canadian dollars. The project is expected to span 16 months, structured around five key milestones: a kick-off meeting, preliminary design review, detailed design review and work authorization meeting, test readiness review, and a final review meeting. Selection is based on the highest combined rating of technical merit (60%) and price (40%), with additional points available for Indigenous considerations. The contract requires strict adherence to security protocols, including Protected B and Reliability Status, and mandates the use of the Information Sharing with External Partners portal for sensitive data transfers. Performance is subject to rigorous inspection and acceptance processes for both hardware and software, including a 90-day warranty period for custom software.

Expression of interest: Small-satellite missions sandpit
Solicitation # 206083
UK Research and Innovation is seeking expressions of interest for a small-satellite missions sandpit designed to bring together approximately 30 researchers and innovators from diverse disciplines. The goal is to co-develop ambitious, challenge-led small-satellite mission concepts focusing on innovative sensors, data streams, and cross-sector enabling technologies to enhance sovereign capability, address national security and societal challenges, and support economic growth. The activity consists of six sessions held between January 26 and February 11, 2027, utilizing a combination of online sessions and a two-day residential event. Total program funding is listed at 1,870,000, with the objective of developing concepts for pump-priming research grants in 2027/2028. Selection of participants is based on core assessment questions focusing on skills and potential contributions rather than track record, with additional consideration given to geographic diversity across all UK regions. Applicants must apply through an Expression of Interest stage, and invited applicants will use the Resume for Research and Innovation format. Mandatory attendance at all sessions is required, with travel and subsistence costs reimbursed and accommodation provided for overnight stays. The program is managed by the UKRI Space Programme team, with the response deadline for the solicitation set for November 25, 2026.

Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library
Solicitation # 80JSC025_CLDC_TECH_LIBRARY
The Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library, managed by the NASA Johnson Space Center, serves as a centralized repository of technical standards, plans, and guidelines for potential offerors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support the development of private LEO space destinations and supporting systems as NASA prepares for the retirement of the International Space Station. The library provides a series of data drops containing both controlled and uncontrolled technical data, including standards for docking systems, payload interfaces, and crew health operations. It also outlines specific NASA center capabilities and high-value engineering products available to industry partners to reduce technical and schedule risks. It is important to note that this activity is a special notice and does not constitute a Request for Proposals, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation. No proposals are to be submitted in response to this notice, and it does not represent a commitment by the government to enter into a contract. Access to export-controlled content requires the submission of a specific request form and compliance with U.S. export regulations, including the implementation of Technology Transfer Control Plans and Non-Disclosure Agreements for foreign nationals. The library is intended to keep industry updated on current NASA technical standards in anticipation of future FAR-based acquisitions.
