NASA Langley Research Center's Aerospace Vehicle Systems Technology Office, in collaboration with the Office of Education and NASA Glenn Research Center's Green Efficient Aircraft Propulsion project, is seeking U.S. commercial aerospace firms to co-sponsor the 2002-2003 Revolutionary Vehicles: Concepts and Systems Competition. This nationwide event targets both university and high school students, promoting innovative ideas in aircraft design and propulsion systems, ranging from personal air vehicles to large cargo transports, and utilizing diverse propulsion methods including electric and rocket power. Participating firms are invited to assist in reviewing proposals, sponsoring awards, and offering summer internships to university students, with awards presented at prominent aviation events in 2003. The competition builds on a successful legacy from previous NASA-sponsored student design challenges, notably the former AGATE project, and aims to engage a broader demographic including high school students. Internships typically span 10 weeks and are facilitated through NASA Langley’s Office of Education. Firms interested in co-sponsoring must submit inquiries by December 1, 2002, directed to Dr. Elizabeth B. Ward. This effort represents NASA’s continuing commitment to fostering innovation and education in aerospace vehicle technologies through partnership with academia and industry.

Full Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Aerospace Vehicle Systems Technology Office, is seeking U.S. commercial aerospace firms that would be interested in co-sponsoring the 2002-2003 Revolutionary Vehicles: Concepts and Systems Competition. We are seeking firms that would be interested in assisting with reviewing student proposals, sponsoring awards, and/or providing university level student internships. The Aerospace Vehicle Systems Technology Office and the Office of Education at Langley Research Center, in partnership with NASA Glenn Research Center's Green Efficient Aircraft Propulsion project, is sponsoring the Revolutionary Vehicles: Concepts and Systems Competition for 2002-2003. This national competition has two divisions, university and high school. The high school awards will be presented at the North Carolina Festival of Flight in May of 2003. The university level award presentations will be made at the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture in August 2003. University student internships at NASA are administered in conjunction with the NASA Langley Office of Education and typically last for 10 weeks during the summer. The current competition grew out of the national university design competition that was formerly sponsored by the NASA Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiment (AGATE) project. After successfully engaging hundreds of university students for seven years, the AGATE program competition ended in the summer of 2001. Last year, 2001-2002, the NASA General Aviation Programs Office sponsored a university level, all general aviation competition that drew over 100 students from eleven universities. That competition inspired a broader, more robust effort to reach not only university campuses, but also high school classrooms with Revolutionary Vehicle ideas. Revolutionary Vehicles can include all types of aircraft, from personal air vehicles to large cargo or passenger transports; all types of propulsion, from electric to rocket powered; and all types of vehicle systems and structures. For details on the competition, visit the web site at http://avst.larc.nasa.gov/competition.html To inquire about becoming a co-sponsor for the 2002-2003 competition, please write to Dr. Elizabeth B. Ward, at contact@example.gov, or call +1 (555) 000-0000. Hard copy inquiries can be mailed to Dr. Ward at Mail Stop 254, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA 23681. Inquires for the 2002-2003 competition should be received no later than December 1, 2002.

Enabling Technology for Future Missions
Solicitation # 9F063-20260085
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is soliciting proposals under the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) to develop and advance one to three priority technologies intended to reduce technical uncertainties for future Canadian space missions. This fixed-price procurement focuses on increasing Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) in accordance with CSA-ST-GDL-0001 Revision A guidelines. The identified priority technologies include a lightweight athermal reflecting telescope for CubeSats, readout electronics for large mosaic focal plane arrays, and technologies for the Ground Snow Mass Mission, with maximum funding per contract ranging from 1 million to 2 million Canadian dollars. The project is expected to span 16 months, structured around five key milestones: a kick-off meeting, preliminary design review, detailed design review and work authorization meeting, test readiness review, and a final review meeting. Selection is based on the highest combined rating of technical merit (60%) and price (40%), with additional points available for Indigenous considerations. The contract requires strict adherence to security protocols, including Protected B and Reliability Status, and mandates the use of the Information Sharing with External Partners portal for sensitive data transfers. Performance is subject to rigorous inspection and acceptance processes for both hardware and software, including a 90-day warranty period for custom software.

Expression of interest: Small-satellite missions sandpit
Solicitation # 206083
UK Research and Innovation is seeking expressions of interest for a small-satellite missions sandpit designed to bring together approximately 30 researchers and innovators from diverse disciplines. The goal is to co-develop ambitious, challenge-led small-satellite mission concepts focusing on innovative sensors, data streams, and cross-sector enabling technologies to enhance sovereign capability, address national security and societal challenges, and support economic growth. The activity consists of six sessions held between January 26 and February 11, 2027, utilizing a combination of online sessions and a two-day residential event. Total program funding is listed at 1,870,000, with the objective of developing concepts for pump-priming research grants in 2027/2028. Selection of participants is based on core assessment questions focusing on skills and potential contributions rather than track record, with additional consideration given to geographic diversity across all UK regions. Applicants must apply through an Expression of Interest stage, and invited applicants will use the Resume for Research and Innovation format. Mandatory attendance at all sessions is required, with travel and subsistence costs reimbursed and accommodation provided for overnight stays. The program is managed by the UKRI Space Programme team, with the response deadline for the solicitation set for November 25, 2026.

Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library
Solicitation # 80JSC025_CLDC_TECH_LIBRARY
The Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library, managed by the NASA Johnson Space Center, serves as a centralized repository of technical standards, plans, and guidelines for potential offerors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support the development of private LEO space destinations and supporting systems as NASA prepares for the retirement of the International Space Station. The library provides a series of data drops containing both controlled and uncontrolled technical data, including standards for docking systems, payload interfaces, and crew health operations. It also outlines specific NASA center capabilities and high-value engineering products available to industry partners to reduce technical and schedule risks. It is important to note that this activity is a special notice and does not constitute a Request for Proposals, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation. No proposals are to be submitted in response to this notice, and it does not represent a commitment by the government to enter into a contract. Access to export-controlled content requires the submission of a specific request form and compliance with U.S. export regulations, including the implementation of Technology Transfer Control Plans and Non-Disclosure Agreements for foreign nationals. The library is intended to keep industry updated on current NASA technical standards in anticipation of future FAR-based acquisitions.
