Wackenhut Services, Inc. (WSI) requires Level 1 and Level 2 role players to support a range of anti-terrorism training courses by simulating victims, witnesses, and attackers in various practical exercises. Level 1 role players, who do not require specialized skills or simunitions experience, participate in courses like Emergency Medical Interventions for Mass Casualties (EMIMCS) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). These actors must convincingly portray trauma victims, participate in physical assessments involving close contact, and endure environmental challenges such as exposure to simulated blood, water, or extreme temperatures. For the WMD course, role players follow detailed scripts across eight scenarios involving chemical, biological, radiological, and explosive threats, sometimes wearing swimwear beneath their clothes as their garments may need to be cut during training. Level 2 role players possess advanced training in investigative techniques and simunitions and are utilized in specialized courses such as Officer Survival Training (OST), Terrorism Investigation Course (TIC), and VIP Protection Course (VIP). These individuals must have knowledge of firearms safety, police tactics, interviewing and interrogation procedures, and the stamina to perform several hours of continuous activity. The VIP Protection course features complex practical exercises involving attack scenarios that include knife diversions, medical emergencies, and explosives. All role players are required to maintain good physical fitness to endure outdoor conditions and must be free of communicable diseases given the close contact with foreign nationals. Additionally, those engaging in simunitions training must receive safety briefings on the use of Dye Marking Cartridges by qualified staff before participating.
