Ellisville State School is soliciting professional security services to protect persons-served, employees, and visitors at its main campus located at 1101 Highway 11 South, Ellisville, Mississippi. The contract is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 1, 2027, and end on June 30, 2028, with the possibility of four successive one-year renewals. The selected contractor must provide qualified security guards and all necessary equipment, including uniforms, flashlights, rain gear, and serviceable firearms and ammunition. A key performance requirement is the ability to provide a replacement guard within two hours of notification if a scheduled guard is absent. The agency will award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on a two-stage evaluation. To pass the initial qualification phase, bidders must have at least five years of experience in similar services, have placed at least 40 security employees in the last two years, hold valid Mississippi business licenses, and achieve a minimum score of twelve points across two reference interviews. Security guards must have at least two years of experience in law enforcement or protective services and undergo comprehensive background checks, including fingerprinting and drug screening. Contractors are required to maintain significant insurance coverages, including workers compensation, a minimum of 1,000,000 dollars per occurrence for general or professional liability, and 500,000 dollars for employee dishonesty or fidelity bonds.
