This contract involves the sale of surplus U.S. Government property in good condition, offered on an "as is, where is" basis without any express or implied warranties, including fitness for any intended use. Interested bidders are encouraged to inspect the property at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, Maryland on specified dates by appointment only. The contract emphasizes that failure to inspect does not allow withdrawal of a bid, and the property is described to the best available information but with no guarantees regarding quantity, quality, or usability. Bids must be submitted by a specified deadline with a minimum bid of $250, and the seller reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive technicalities. The successful bidder must make full payment within 15 calendar days by certified check or money order and is responsible for removing the property at their own expense within 30 days of award notification. The property includes various computer workstations, servers, and electronic equipment, many of which are Y2K non-compliant, from manufacturers such as Tektronix, Silicon Graphics, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Apple, Sun Microsystems, and IBM. Title to the property passes to the purchaser upon full payment, and all risks of loss or damage transfer at that time. The purchaser assumes responsibility for any damages caused during removal and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing the handling and use of the property. The contract also requires bidders to indemnify the government and contractor from any claims arising from injury or damage related to the sale or removal activities. Questions and appointments for inspection are to be coordinated with the Plant Clearance Officer, Delorese K. Koller.
