NASA Langley Research Center is seeking companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize a high-performance thermoplastic polyimide technology known as LaRC-SI. This advanced material, developed using commercially available monomers, offers exceptional mechanical, electrical, and adhesive properties along with broad processing versatility. The resin is self-bonding and non-curing, suitable for use as dielectric inner layers, substrate coatings, or substrates themselves. LaRC-SI films are produced by casting or spraying a solution containing xylene, N-methyl-pyrrolidinone (NMP), and LaRC-SI powder, with solvent removal controlled by drying temperatures to achieve insolubility while maintaining melt processability. The polyimide stands out due to its solubility in conventional high-boiling solvents, melt flow and bonding properties, excellent electrical characteristics including a low dissipation factor and high dielectric strength, and robustness against harsh environments such as radiation, cryogenic and elevated temperatures, corrosive fluids, and biological agents. Licensing options are available on exclusive or nonexclusive bases, potentially limited by specific fields of use. Interested parties are encouraged to contact NASA Langley’s Office of Strategic Analysis and Business Development by email, providing their interest and company background. The technology is covered by several patents, and licensing discussions will proceed through NASA’s formal licensing process if there is significant interest.

Full Description

NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. THE TECHNOLOGY: Scientists at NASA Langley Research Center have developed a wholly aromatic high-performance thermoplastic polyimide that is a self-bonding/non-curing resin made from commercially available monomers. This polyimide has superior mechanical, electrical, and adhesive properties and an extensive range of processing choices that allow it to serve as either a dielectric inner layer, substrate coating, or the substrate. LaRC-SI film is made by casting or spraying a solution consisting of xylene, N-methyl-pyrrolidinone NMP, and LaRC-SI powder. At different drying temperatures, various amounts of solvent are removed to the point where it becomes insoluble but retains its melt processability. LaRC-SI excels in the following characteristics: -Solubility in conventional high-boiling solvents -Melt flow and bonding properties- -Electrical properties -low dissipation factor and high dielectric strength -Resistance to harsh environments such as radiation, cryogenic and elevated temperatures, most fluids, corrosives, and biological inertness Relevant base patents: US Pat. 5,639,850 US Pat. 5,741,883 US Pat. 6,048,959 To express interest in this opportunity, please respond to contact@example.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity as listed in this FBO notice and your preferred contact information. Please also provide the nature of your interest in the technology along with a brief background of your company. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal at http://technology.nasa.gov/ . These responses are provided to members of NASA Langleys Office of Strategic Analysis and Business Development OSACB for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products, and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. If direct licensing interest results from this posting, OSACB will follow the required formal licensing process of posting in the Federal Register. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.

Enabling Technology for Future Missions
Solicitation # 9F063-20260085
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is soliciting proposals under the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) to develop and advance one to three priority technologies intended to reduce technical uncertainties for future Canadian space missions. This fixed-price procurement focuses on increasing Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) in accordance with CSA-ST-GDL-0001 Revision A guidelines. The identified priority technologies include a lightweight athermal reflecting telescope for CubeSats, readout electronics for large mosaic focal plane arrays, and technologies for the Ground Snow Mass Mission, with maximum funding per contract ranging from 1 million to 2 million Canadian dollars. The project is expected to span 16 months, structured around five key milestones: a kick-off meeting, preliminary design review, detailed design review and work authorization meeting, test readiness review, and a final review meeting. Selection is based on the highest combined rating of technical merit (60%) and price (40%), with additional points available for Indigenous considerations. The contract requires strict adherence to security protocols, including Protected B and Reliability Status, and mandates the use of the Information Sharing with External Partners portal for sensitive data transfers. Performance is subject to rigorous inspection and acceptance processes for both hardware and software, including a 90-day warranty period for custom software.

Systèmes De Microréacteur Lunaire Canadien
Solicitation # 9F055- 20260146
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) under solicitation number 9F055-20260146 to identify Canadian technologies and capabilities relevant to lunar microreactors and enabling technologies. This initiative seeks to gather evidence-based data on Canada's existing strengths, technology maturity, supply chains, and development pathways to inform future space exploration programs and procurement strategies. The CSA is interested in a wide range of contributions, from complete systems and subsystems to specialized research and consortium roles, and is not requiring a single entity to deliver an end-to-end system. Notional performance parameters of interest include a net continuous electric power of approximately 20-80 kWe and an operational life of 10 years or more. This RFI is not a bid solicitation and will not result in the award of a contract, grant, or funding agreement. Responses are not scored for supplier selection but are used to map the domestic landscape. Interested parties from industry, academia, and research institutions must submit their responses by November 23, 2026. Submissions should follow the recommended format in Annex A and utilize the Capability Matrix and Technology Readiness Level references provided in the attachments. All responses must be unclassified, and any proprietary information must be clearly marked. The CSA emphasizes that future activities must prioritize safety, security, environmental protection, and non-proliferation in accordance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and other applicable laws.

Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library
Solicitation # 80JSC025_CLDC_TECH_LIBRARY
The Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library, managed by the NASA Johnson Space Center, serves as a centralized repository of technical standards, plans, and guidelines for potential offerors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support the development of private LEO space destinations and supporting systems as NASA prepares for the retirement of the International Space Station. The library provides a series of data drops containing both controlled and uncontrolled technical data, including standards for docking systems, payload interfaces, and crew health operations. It also outlines specific NASA center capabilities and high-value engineering products available to industry partners to reduce technical and schedule risks. It is important to note that this activity is a special notice and does not constitute a Request for Proposals, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation. No proposals are to be submitted in response to this notice, and it does not represent a commitment by the government to enter into a contract. Access to export-controlled content requires the submission of a specific request form and compliance with U.S. export regulations, including the implementation of Technology Transfer Control Plans and Non-Disclosure Agreements for foreign nationals. The library is intended to keep industry updated on current NASA technical standards in anticipation of future FAR-based acquisitions.
