Full Description

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) plans to award a sole source modification for a three-month extension to Alion Science and Technology, formerly known as IIT Research Institute (IITRI), in support of the Advanced Materials and Processes Technology Information Analysis Center (AMPTIAC) under contract SPO700-97-D-4001. Alion is the only source to provide AMPTIAC services within the required timeframe. This action represents a bridge extension until a competitive follow-on acquisition is awarded. Alion has the operational capability in place for continuous DoD-wide demand for technical support in the area of Advance Materials and Processes Technology. Award to any other source would require transition and start-up time that would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling ongoing critical agency requirements. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and should not be a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304 - (1).
