A--Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Standard Missile-3 Block IA Missiles for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a cost plus award fee contract modification to Raytheon Company, 1151 E. Hermans Rd, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337, for Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IA missiles for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces (JMSDF) under a Foreign Military Sale. The scope will also include training and program management. Raytheon is the sole Standard Missile round design and manufacturer. As such, Raytheon is the only source with the requisite technical expertise, experience and knowledge necessary to satisfy these requirements. The period of performance will be from effective date of contract through September 2007. This contract will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
