The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is organizing two interchange meetings on September 12-13, 2007, at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. These meetings focus on facilitating collaboration between the Air Force and industry regarding Air Armament Technology, specifically addressing Independent Research & Development (IR&D) and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program’s Commercialization Pilot Program (CPP) transition support. The event will begin with a four-hour plenary session for qualifying contractors, where AFRL will outline near- and mid-term Air Force air armament technology needs as well as longer-term concepts. Following this, the workshop will split into two parallel tracks: an IR&D question and answer session and SBIR one-on-one transition support meetings, each allowing 20 minutes per participating company. Attendance is limited to U.S. defense companies that are either Department of Defense (DoD) employees or DoD contractors possessing a valid DD Form 2345, the Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. Participation is voluntary and will not guarantee future contracts or acquisitions. Due to limited resources and expected demand, AFRL anticipates selecting a limited number of companies for this opportunity. Interested parties are requested to respond within 15 days of the announcement with their intent to participate and a copy of their DD Form 2345. For more details about the meetings, selection criteria, and to express interest, companies are encouraged to contact the designated points of contact for IR&D and SBIR or visit the AFRL website provided in the announcement.
