The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to modify a sole source contract with DRS Surveillance Support Systems, Inc. to acquire additional Design Agent and Technical/Engineering services for the AN/SPQ-67(V)3 Radar System Program. This modification aims to provide up to 76,870 additional hours of support, covering activities such as special studies, failure analysis, engineering change proposal investigations, and other developmental efforts related to the radar system. DRS Surveillance Support Systems is the exclusive manufacturer of the AN/SPQ-67(V) radar and has been the sole producer since 1998, ensuring that the government intends to continue its relationship with this single qualified source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This contract synopsis is posted on both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) sites to inform potential subcontractors about upcoming opportunities associated with this work. While the government will only negotiate with DRS Surveillance Support Systems directly, interested parties are encouraged to contact the subcontracting department for possible subcontract opportunities. This arrangement underscores the specialized nature of the services and the unique qualification of the contractor in supporting the AN/SPQ-67(V)3 radar system, a critical component in Navy operations.
