A--Evaluate ship maneuvering simulation codes under tool assessment research and development project.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Code 5500, is undertaking an evaluation of ship maneuvering simulation codes as part of a tool assessment research and development project. A key software under review is the Virtual Ship program developed by Computer Science Corporation (CSC), with plans to also provide training on both the Virtual Ship and the associated Ship maneuvering assessment software. Due to the proprietary nature of the Virtual Ship software and CSC being the sole developer and provider, NSWCCD intends to pursue a non-competitive contract with CSC under the authority granted by 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
