The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is organizing an Industry Day focused on the Persistent Unmanned Maritime Airborne Surveillance Capability, intended to provide industry with insights into upcoming research opportunities and program improvements. This event will take place on June 3, 2005, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California, Maryland, beginning at 9:00 AM with registration between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. The Industry Day will feature briefings from Navy leadership on planned ISR program and mission system enhancements, followed by an extended question and answer session rather than one-on-one meetings. Interested parties must register via email by June 2, 2005, providing detailed attendee information. The event precedes the release of a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) that will solicit proposals for innovative research supporting the development of persistent unmanned maritime airborne surveillance capabilities. This announcement clarifies that it is not a solicitation or contract and that the Navy will not assume any costs related to participation. Discussions and materials shared will be unclassified, and security clearances are not required. The primary contacts for the event and related inquiries include both a Contract Specialist and a Contracting Officer from NAVAIR, with registration strictly accepted via email to ensure an organized attendee list. Overall, NAVAIR aims to engage industry in advancing maritime ISR capabilities while carefully managing information exchange and participation logistics.
