A -- Missile Defense Agency Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Industry Day

The Missile Defense Agency, in collaboration with the National Defense Industrial Association Missile Defense Division, is organizing a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Industry Day on September 12, 2006, at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The event begins with early registration at 4:30 p.m. on September 11, followed by an evening reception featuring remarks from LtGen Henry "Trey" Obering, USAF, Director of the MDA. The main program will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on September 12, featuring a series of brief presentations by missile defense research leaders on a broad range of SBIR topics including integration, discrimination, space technology, manufacturing processes, radiation hardening, radar system technology, insensitive munitions, anti-tamper strategies, airborne component technology, and modeling & simulation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with Government technical staff to explore potential SBIR proposals. It is important to note that, to ensure competitive fairness, direct communication between potential bidders and topic authors will be prohibited after the conclusion of the Industry Day on September 12, marking the end of the SBIR pre-solicitation period.
