The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) plans to continue the existing contract with Indus Corporation for an additional year under Delivery Order No. N01-ES-25479. This sole-source negotiation is intended to support the ongoing development and completion of the National Toxicology Program (NTP) Web Application Database project, which aims to provide a web-based query tool for public access to toxicology study data conducted by the NTP. The decision to pursue a sole-source contract is based on the statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, citing that competition would lead to duplication of costs and cause unacceptable delays. The contract continuation seeks to leverage Indus Corporation’s existing work and expertise to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of the web application. The project is critical for enhancing public accessibility to toxicology information, thereby supporting NIEHS’s mission. Points of contact for this contract include Juanita A. Clement, Contract Specialist, and Phillip D. Jones, Contract Officer, who are available for inquiries regarding the negotiation process. The undertaking reflects a strategic decision by NIEHS to maintain continuity and efficiency in the delivery of this specialized web application database service.
