The Federal Computer Incident Response Center (FedCIRC) is soliciting input from the Information Technology sector, including managed security service providers and system integrators, regarding the development of a Data Analysis Capability (DAC) and related standards. This request invites interested parties to express their interest, expertise, and willingness to collaborate in shaping FedCIRC’s approach to data analysis within cybersecurity incident response. The initiative aims to gather industry feedback through written responses submitted via email by March 20, 2003, and to convene a high-level discussion with stakeholders to explore the DAC strategy and ongoing standards development efforts. The solicitation outlines the context of the data analysis challenge FedCIRC seeks to address and proposes a potential solution while providing a status update on related standards work which will proceed separately from the DAC initiative. A five-page document released with the solicitation details the problem, solution rationale, methods for industry engagement, and includes a dedicated email address for feedback submissions. This effort reflects FedCIRC’s commitment to collaborating with private sector experts to enhance federal cybersecurity incident analysis capabilities and to ensure alignment with existing and emerging standards.
