The contract modification involves ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation receiving an additional 150,000 hours of level of effort to continue supporting the Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) ADP Support Services. This extension is intended to maintain service continuity through September 30, 2003, until a follow-on contract is awarded. The modification is awarded on a sole source basis under authority citing that ManTech is the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the agency's requirements, as allowed by federal acquisition regulations. The existing contract, N00140-98-C-H187, is being modified by FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia to cover these additional efforts. Meanwhile, the subsequent solicitation for the follow-on contract was posted in January 2003 and is expected to be released around March 18, 2003, under solicitation number N00140-03-R-0046. This process ensures continued support without service disruption as the government transitions to the next phase of contracting for NTCSS ADP Support Services.
