NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is inviting industry partners to collaborate in the development of a spacecraft bus for the Advanced X-Ray Polarimeter (AXP) mission. This collaboration is intended to support a proposal in response to NASA's Small Explorer (SMEX) Announcement of Opportunity. Should the AXP mission be selected and funded, the chosen partner would be contracted to design, build, test, and integrate the spacecraft bus with the AXP instrument. The selection process involves issuing a partnership opportunity document containing mission details and specifications, receiving presentation packages from interested parties, and evaluating these submissions. Responses must be submitted by 8am EST on March 31, 2003. The partnership opportunity document, available on NASA's GSFC procurement website, does not guarantee selection or funding, and the government will not pay for responding to the solicitation. Potential partners are responsible for downloading the document and any updates and for monitoring the site for amendments. Key contacts for this opportunity are Aprille Ericsson and Robin Mauk at NASA/GSFC. An ombudsman has been appointed to oversee the process, and all interested parties should carefully follow instructions and reference the solicitation when submitting their responses.
