A -- Radiation Decontamination Research, Analysis and Program Management

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) intends to issue a sole source contract to Sanford Cohen & Associates (SC&A) to conduct research, analysis and program management activities under DARPA?s Radiation Decontamination (RD) program. SC&A is a nationally recognized expert in the field of dose, risk, and impacts assessments related to exposure to radiation and radioactive materials, and is the only contractor that has both the technical knowledge and unique RD program experience to successfully perform under this DARPA effort. This effort is a continuation of research and development previously performed by SC&A under the RD program and they have played an integral role in establishing program plans and schedule for the RD program. Furthermore, the contractor under this effort must be currently trained and qualified to perform on the existing RD program. Employing alternative personnel would entail a significant learning curve resulting in schedule delays, lack of adequate support and cost increases to the Government. The research is deemed to be available only from SC&A. This Notice is intended for informational purposes only; it is not a Request for Proposals.
