The National Institutes of Health Office of Acquisition and Logistics Operations is seeking to procure a Keyence BZ-X1000 All-in-One Fluorescence Microscope or an equivalent system to support advanced research activities at the National Human Genome Research Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. The primary objective is to enable high-resolution fluorescence and brightfield imaging of fixed cells, live cells, and tissue sections from pre-clinical mouse models, with a focus on visualizing and quantifying gene expression, vector distribution, cellular pathology, and therapeutic responses. The system must feature high-sensitivity fluorescence detection capable of capturing low-signal samples, automated image acquisition with stage control, integrated quantitative analysis software, and multi-channel fluorescence capabilities. It must also provide a user-friendly interface compatible with standard data export workflows to ensure seamless integration into existing laboratory practices and reduce reliance on shared imaging resources. The contractor is responsible for delivering, installing, and configuring the complete system at the designated location, including all required components, accessories, and software licenses necessary for full functionality. System testing must be conducted to verify operational readiness, and comprehensive user training must be provided to NHGRI personnel to ensure proficient and independent operation. The contract includes warranty and ongoing technical support as specified, with all deliverables to be fulfilled at the Bethesda, Maryland facility identified in the place of performance. The acquisition is conducted under NAICS code 334516 without any set-aside provisions, and the solicitation is currently in a presolicitation phase with a response deadline of July 7, 2026. While the solicitation details the technical requirements and essential contractor responsibilities, it does not specify evaluation criteria, pricing, payment terms, inspection procedures, or formal contract clauses. The primary focus remains on securing a fully integrated, high-performance microscopy platform that enhances experimental efficiency, reproducibility, and data quality for time-sensitive genomic research. The point of contact for the acquisition is John Burton, reachable through the provided NIH email address.
