Contract (BPA) GS-04P-10-EW-A-0160 expired on June 30, 2011. The current contractor is Advanced Engineering Design, Inc. (AED), 6525 Belcrest Road, Suite 526, Hyattesville, MD 20782-2028. Contract GS-04P-10-EW-A-0160 was necessitated by the Termination for Default of the predecessor contractor, People Processing Information (PPI) in June 2010. To ensure continuity of services without disruption to the GSA mission, a sole source J&A was executed in June 2010 to award a contract to AED for a period of 12 months. AED was chosen because of their existing presence in the region under a professional services contract (GS-04P-09-EX-A-0132) which supported program office requirements throughout Region 4. During the period of the current contract, GS-04P-10-EW-A-0160, the Statement of Work and performance requirements of the current contract have been under review to provide for more measurable performance standards. Due to this review, the solicitation for the follow-on contract has been delayed and an extension of the current contract that expires June 30, 2011 is necessary. It is in the Government's best interest to request an extension of BPA GS-04P-10-EW-A-0160 for six (6) months to expire no later than December 31, 2011.
