Agriculture and Irrigation - Request for Proposal - Pilot Plant Cleaning Services for Bio Processing Innovation Centre

PROJECT OVERVIEW The purpose of this RFP is to secure: a) A contractor to provide high quality, reliable and consistent sanitation and cleaning services to the Province for: Bio Processing Innovation Centre (BPIC) including pilot scale processing machines and equipment housed within the facility. b) Sanitation and cleaning services are required at BPIC located at 5520 – 36 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. This facility is administered by the Province of Alberta. c) Services required include general services, equipment cleaning and specialized sanitation services for processing rooms and equipment. These services may involve the use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and work within confined spaces. All sanitation and equipment cleaning activities shall be performed in accordance with the facility’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and applicable health and safety requirements. d) Equipment to be cleaned may include the following processes: • Wet processing • Industrial application • Extraction and purification • Freeze drying and spray dryer • Wiped film evaporator and reactors • Processing tanks and hoses • Processing pumps • Testing and analysis • Formulation/scale up of cosmetic/personal care products equipment • NNHP development, manufacturing and filling equipment • Packaging and labeling equipment • Floors e) Services are generally delivered late in the day and into the evening after close of BPIC’s business day. Services may also be required at weekends. Under normal circumstances two days’ notification will be given and in case of an emergency 24 hours’ notice will be given. The period of delivery is generally Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm until scheduled services are completed. However, the Province may require delivery service during a different time- period based on the needs of BPIC as the Province, acting reasonably, deems necessary. f) Number of actual hours required to carry out the Services vary from week to week and are not guaranteed. The Services scheduled by the Province is dependent upon the activity within BPIC. The Province has requested but not guarantee the number of hours of services that is equivalent to 1200 hours of service per year or approximately 24 hours of service per week (based on 50 weeks per year)
