Full Description

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all comments received within five (5) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. The Government intends to issue a sole-source award to Gately Communication for airtime frequency and maintenance for Government-owned communications equipment. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based on the critical communciation needs of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This is a trunked radio system and the airtime frequency which enables NMCP and its Branch Health Clinics to communicate effectively is owned exclusively by Gately Communication. The communications system is used by the Emergency Medicine, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Departments and failure to communicate will impact this command's ability to respond to any medical emergent, diaster, biochemical, security or safety situations. Any responses received to this notice will be used solely at the discretion of the Government to determine whether future requirements can be conducted on a full and open competitive basis.
