AN41-- Lane Sequencing - Bronx VA

VA James J. Peters VA Medical Center Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with New York Genome Center, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; to continue to provide sequencing services in support of their research study which aims to characterize gene expression dysregulation of an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The studies necessitate employing next generation sequencing (NGS) technology in order to compare specific transcriptional marks in different cell types between healthy and diseased brain. These services must be provided by a vendor within in one hours drive of the VA facility, due to the nature of the study. Members of the VA laboratory in the James J Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), Bronx, NY, will deliver the samples to the Center/Facility. Due to the necessity to maintain temperature control, physical integrity of the samples and chain of custody, transportation of the samples outside this specified radius is infeasible. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, August 17, 2020 at COB.
