Inivation for Bid: 25AJB0086 Title: Annual Hoist and Crane Inspection and Repair Services Respones Due: July 28, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. Overview: The University at Buffalo ("University") is the largest, most comprehensive, research-intensive university within the 64-campus State University of New York ("SUNY") system, and is SUNY's primary center for professional education and training. It enrolls approximately 30,000 students. The University is located in the Buffalo-Niagara region of the state, which is New York's largest upstate metropolitan area. Scope: The University at Buffalo is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide hoist and crane inspections and any applicable repairs to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operation. This includes all labor, equipment and material necessary to inpsect and repair assorted hoists and cranes as well as numerous nylon slings, engineered chains, etc. at the University in accordance with associated Occupational Safety and Heath Act (OSHA) requirements. The successful Bidder/Contractor shall be responsible for hoist and crane inspection and repair at all University at Buffalo North, South and Downtown Campuses and all other University-affilated facilties, present and future, as desginated by the University. The University reserves the right to add or remove equipment to be inspected at any time throughout the length of this Contract. Term of Agreement / Contract Term: The succuessful bidder(s) will be required to enter into a formal written agreement with the University for five (5) years. During which period, bids shall not be withdrawn unless the bidder specifically states in the bid that accepance thereof must be made within a shorter specific time. Minimum Requirements: The Bidder/Contractor, to ensure safe, compliant, and manufacturer‑authorized inspection of all hoisting equipment covered under this contract, bidders must demonstrate the capability to meet applicable regulatory and technical standards. This includes compliance with OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3) for crane and hoist inspections, as well as verification of specialized expertise where manufacturer‑specific qualifications are required.
