The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to negotiate a contract on a single source basis to Sensor Systems, LLC, Saint Petersburg, FL, for the acquisition of ASR-8 Encoder (Part Number VOE-35-2795 and National Stock Number 5990-01-085-2056) and ASR-9 Encoder (Part Number VOE-35-2542 and National Stock Number 5990-01-319-5667). These encoders are critical components of the antenna systems, providing azimuth position tracking necessary for proper radar operation.



In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. Sensor Systems owns all proprietary data rights proprietary information necessary to conduct manufacture, repair, and test of these assets.



A market survey (6973GH-26-MS-00006) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on July 31, 2026. No responses were received in response to the market survey.
