Athabasca County is inviting proposals for onsite contract management of one or both of its campgrounds, Forfar Recreation Park and Hope Lake Campground, for the 2026 season. Forfar Recreation Park features 73 un-serviced stalls plus a group site, located near Long Lake southwest of Athabasca, while Hope Lake Campground has 53 un-serviced stalls plus a group site, situated near Hope Lake northeast of Boyle. Both campgrounds operate seasonally from early May to the end of September, weather permitting, and include amenities such as sani-dumps, cookhouses, outhouses, playgrounds, administrative offices with general stores, launch areas for boats, and furnished campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. Contract managers will be provided with a serviced park model trailer on-site that functions as both living quarters and a campground office. Interested proponents must submit their proposals by mid-February 2026. The contract offers the opportunity to oversee daily campground operations, maintain facilities, and liaise with visitors in these scenic outdoor environments managed by Athabasca County, which emphasizes community recreation and tourism. Further information and detailed campground facility maps are available through the county’s resources, and all correspondence should be directed to the designated contracting authority.
