The Department of the Navy, through its Navfacsyscom Southeast office, is conducting a market survey to identify potential contractors for a future firm-fixed price construction project at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. The initiative involves replacing and updating key elements of the center’s potable and fire supply water system, including demolition of two existing 750,000-gallon water storage tanks that have reached the end of their service life, installation of two new 500,000-gallon tanks, and construction of a new 150,000-gallon elevated storage tank at the site of a previously removed water tower. The project also includes the removal of abandoned piping and associated system upgrades to meet current operational requirements and restore the system to its original design intent. This sources sought announcement is a preliminary step to gather information on qualified businesses—including small businesses and various SBA-certified entities—that possess the necessary experience, resources, and capability to execute this large-scale construction project, estimated at $10 million to $25 million. The solicitation is classified under NAICS code 237110 for Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction, with a requirement that the prime contractor self-perform at least 20 percent of the work. No proposals or bids are being accepted at this stage, and no additional information or appointments will be provided beyond this notice. The government will use the responses to determine the procurement strategy and potential set-asides prior to issuing a forthcoming solicitation, with the contract award anticipated in June 2026.
