Full Description

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a sole source contract to AXYS Analytical Services, LTD, 2045 Mills Road West, Sidney BC for 74 ea organochlorine analysis of blue mussel samples and 61 ea organochlorine analysis of fish muscle samples. Analyses must match previously analyzed samples and use the following protocol: sample cleanup by GPC; fractionation of elutes by florisil columns; gas chromatography/mass spectrometer analysis; detection limits of 1.0 ng for individual PCB congeners resulting in 0.1 - 0.5 ng/g on 10 gram sample sizes. Detection limits of 1.0 ng for organochloring pesticides resulting in 0.1 - -.5 nh/g on 10 gram samples sizes. No other known source can provide sample results matching previously analyzed samples for this joint DOI/Navy partnership effort. No other analyte lists can meet the identical analytes eluted in the early data gathering efforts. No solicitation will be issued.
