The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to engage On Time Systems, Inc. (OTS) to demonstrate the ARGOS and SIMYARD scheduling and simulation tools within a Navy repair shipyard setting. The contract focuses on further development and customization of the SIMYARD tool to ensure it can accurately simulate schedule performance in a repair yard environment. These tools aim to provide both qualitative and quantitative assessments of ARGOS’s ability to generate cost savings while ensuring or improving the timely completion of work in naval shipyards. The Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) will serve as the demonstration site for this effort. This initiative builds upon a previous Phase III Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) project that demonstrated these tools in a new construction shipyard context specifically for the VIRGINIA Class program. The current contract aligns with Department of Defense appropriations from fiscal years 2004 and 2005 and represents continued investment in innovative scheduling technologies intended to reduce shipbuilding costs and improve operational efficiency in naval repair yards.
