Barrington Hill new gateway

Natural England is soliciting bids for the installation of a new 15-foot-wide gateway at the Barrington Hill National Nature Reserve, located at W3W suave.heap.detail in South West England. The project involves preparing the site by removing old fencing and gateposts, excavating a gateway area at least 6 meters wide, and installing two wooden gates with hardwood posts, plastic culverts, and a Type 1 sub-base. All work must adhere to British Standard BS 1722-7 for fencing and UC4 pressure-treatment specifications for timber. The contract period begins on December 7, 2026, with a mandatory completion date of February 26, 2027. The contract will be awarded based on the most advantageous tender, with a weighting of 70% for commercial cost and 30% for technical capability, specifically focusing on health and safety and relevant experience. Bidders must provide proof of employer and public liability insurance, a CDM compliant risk assessment, and evidence of professional competency. Payments will be made in pounds sterling via BACS transfer upon submission of a compliant invoice.
