The Department of Defense's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic is seeking information on commercially available body worn acoustic surveillance systems designed for covert audio monitoring by law enforcement. These systems must use commercially available transmitters operating within a frequency range of 150-174 MHz, have a minimum power output of 0.25 Watt, comply with a 12.5 kHz bandwidth, and must not employ encryption or disguise mechanisms. The goal is to identify eligible systems for potential inclusion in the Department of Homeland Security's Authorized Equipment List under law enforcement surveillance equipment. This Request for Information (RFI) targets manufacturers or distributors that can provide relevant product and company details, including contact information, system specifications, and whether proprietary receivers are required. The information gathered will support the DHS System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which assesses and validates commercial equipment for emergency responder use. Submissions are intended solely for information gathering and will be publicly available through SAVER documentation; proprietary data should not be submitted. Vendors are to complete a specified form and submit their responses by January 13, 2014. The government explicitly states that this RFI does not constitute a solicitation or an offer and no contract award or payment will result from this process. Follow-up contact may occur for more detailed information if a SAVER assessment project is initiated. Questions on technical or contractual matters have designated points of contact within the agency.
