Boiler Maintenance, Inspection Services & Chemical Supply

The Lakehead District School Board has issued solicitation RFT27-06 for a one-year contract, starting approximately October 1, 2026, for boiler maintenance, inspection services, and chemical supply across all board sites. The scope includes the supply of water treatment chemicals and the execution of a maintenance program to protect steam and closed-loop boiler systems from corrosion, scaling, and bacterial deposits. Key deliverables involve scheduled on-site visits between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., electronic submission of detailed service reports, and the expedited delivery of chemicals and reagents FOB Destination to a designated site. Notably, Addendum 1 specifies that Ecole Gron Morgan, McKellar Park, Westmount, Hammarskjold, and Westgate CVI are closed-loop systems requiring three visits per year. The contract will be awarded to a single bidder based on the lowest annual cost for servicing and glycol pricing, provided they meet all compliance requirements. Eligible bidders must have at least five years of experience in boiler maintenance and provide two relevant references. A 10 percent evaluation advantage is granted to Ontario businesses for contracts under 139,000 dollars, and to Canadian businesses for contracts of 139,000 dollars or more. All chemical shipments must strictly adhere to WHMIS legislation and include Material Safety Data Sheets to avoid refusal of delivery.
