The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking offers for the purchase of bulk pack chilled ready-to-cook fowl chickens, intended for use in school lunch and other domestic food nutrition assistance programs. Each purchase unit will consist of 36,000 pounds of poultry. Offers must be submitted electronically via the Domestic Electronic Bid Entry System (DEBES), with submissions through any other method deemed nonresponsive. This year’s program introduces specific food defense requirements, including mandatory written responses to all audit non-conformances within 14 calendar days and the condition that participating facilities have been audited since March 1, 2009. Bidders must also provide annual financial updates to Dun & Bradstreet as part of the qualification process. While many provisions mirror those of the previous year, prospective offerors are strongly encouraged to review all relevant solicitation documents, including the Master Solicitation, Qualification Requirements, and Commodity Specification. The contracting officer for inquiries is Greta Samuel, reachable at [phone hidden]. The USDA emphasizes its commitment to nondiscrimination in all programs and offers accommodations for persons with disabilities.
