AI Contract Overview

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to award a sole source contract to FS Engineering, Inc. to complete the remaining work outlined in an existing task order under a previously competed Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Due to an administrative oversight, an option to extend the IDIQ contract was not exercised on time, although the task order remains within the contract’s original scope, value, and period of performance. To correct this internal error and maintain transparency, the Government is proceeding with this sole source award under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The contract encompasses eight defined tasks related to groundwater monitoring and risk assessment, including project management, document review, groundwater sampling, MCP Method 3 risk assessment, closure reporting, response action outcome statements, activity use limitation services compliant with MCP, and stakeholder meetings. While this notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, the Government is conducting market research to identify any other qualified sources capable of fulfilling the contract requirements. Interested parties are invited to submit responses within 10 days for consideration, although the Government is under no obligation to pay for any information submitted or to conduct a competitive procurement. The focus remains solely on ensuring transparency and correcting the administrative issue without affecting the scope of the original task order. Questions and responses regarding this notice should be directed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the provided contact details within the stipulated timeline.
