Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) maintains cableway and hydrometric gauging stations across approximately 500 sites in the Pacific and Yukon areas. The hydrometric data support activities such as policy development, infrastructure design, water allocation, flood and drought response, recreation, navigation, ecosystem protection, and scientific study. The objective of this project is to construct a sensor line for a monitoring station in a timely manner allowing continuous production of discharge data. The construction services are to be carried out in accordance with all applicable guidelines and standards, and result in minimal impact to the environment.
ECCC requires a Contractor to conduct construction activities to repair the existing cableways to a level of safety acceptable for Bank-Operated operation at the Water Survey of Canada Stations, Indian River above the Mouth, and McQuesten River near the Mouth. The two project scopes are exactly the same and are located close to each other. As well, a single, combined operation can be designed to optimize work during favourable weather windows, reducing downtime and risk and lead to less land disturbance, fewer emissions and reduced ecological impact compared to running two separate operations.
Completion of the scope of work is anticipated within one (1) week in addition to mobilization and demobilization.
The requirement is subject to the provisions of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
