The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is a Special Operating Agency of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) that helps to ensure safe and accessible waterways for Canadians. Within its mandate, the CCG has the responsibility to provide aids to navigation, and marine communications and traffic management services that contribute to the safety, accessibility and security of Canadian waters. The CCG has been notified of an Aid to Navigation (AtoN) at LL705 Parizeau Point near Prince Rupert, BC, that has been struck by a vessel at drift, causing irreparable damage to the structure. This proposed work is required to provide mariners with reliable maritime navigational infrastructure.
The scope of work includes construction of one (1) multi-pile dolphin site and removal and salvage of one (1) multi-pile dolphin structure and attached components. The Contractor shall provide construction services to completely build the proposed structure, including the supply and installation of items, and installation of CCG-supplied items, as noted on the Drawings. The Contractor shall supply diving services to cut the existing pile structure at the sea floor and remove existing piles without damaging the sea floor and salvage any found components.
The site is located near the Port of Prince Rupert, off the coast of Digby Island.
