The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation of the CANA Tunnel and Vent Building in District 6, Massachusetts, under Contract No. 134231 and Project No. 606859, with a total estimated value of $7,611,000. The contractor is required to complete all work within 1,353 calendar days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed, with timely delivery and coordination of materials essential to avoid project delays. All labor must adhere to Massachusetts prevailing wage rates, and the contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, commercial general liability insurance, and comply with ADA standards, including Braille signage requirements. The contract mandates strict socioeconomic participation goals for Minority or Women’s Business Enterprises (M/WBE) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBE), with bidders required to either meet the contract goal through documented participation and Letters of Intent or demonstrate good faith efforts to achieve it—failure to do so renders a bid non-responsive.
