With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its CALUMET HARBOR MAINTENANCE DREDGING, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to perform mechanical dredging in the Calumet River to remove 10,000 cubic yards of sediment around specified bridges to maintain navigation into Lake Michigan and upstream Calumet Harbor. The River will be dredged to -27.0' LWD (Low Water Datum) with a 1" overdepth allowance. The dredged sediment will be disposed in a Government furnished CDF by mechanical off-loading. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990 - "Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities", this acquisition is a HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Small Business Size Standard is $20.0 Million. To be considered for small business of the government dredging procurements, the firm must perform at least 40% of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small business dredging concern. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY.
