Canal Street Bicycle & Pedestrian Improvement Project Phase 1 & 2

The Canal Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Project Phase 1 and 2, identified by solicitation number FW2025-0034, is a forecast project for the City of Placerville, California. The project focuses on the construction and enhancement of bicycle and pedestrian facilities and the improvement of public utilities. It is categorized as exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(b) and (c) due to the negligible expansion of use of existing facilities. The work is located in El Dorado County, specifically along Canal Street from US Highway 50 to Combellack Road and along Combellack Road from Canal Street to the north end of David Circle. The scope of work is divided into two primary phases. Phase 1 involves constructing new bicycle facilities and replacing existing sidewalks from Cougar Lane to Combellack Road, as well as constructing a new sidewalk along Combellack Road from David Circle to Canal Street, with specific improvements designated for both Combellack Road and Canal Street. Phase 2 focuses on Canal Street from El Dorado High School south to US Highway 50, encompassing the rehabilitation of existing pavement and the replacement of sidewalks and curb ramps to ensure ADA compliance. Additionally, the project may include the repair and replacement of underground water and sewer lines and improvements to storm drainage facilities.
