Cedar Valley Reservoir Auxiliary Spillway Repairs

McClure Project No. 211294-010
FEMA Project No. – DR4800-KS

Sealed bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the City of Garnett, City Hall located at 131 West 5th Street, Garnett, Kansas 66032, until Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:
Remove unwanted vegetation, clear and grub items such as trees, brush, grass, and soil. Cut & Fill existing on-site soils to match proposed construction plans. Prevent and manage soil erosion during project construction until grass vegetation has been established, which includes irrigation. Regrade slope of auxiliary spillway to match contours on plans. Fill in scour areas with earthen materials to match grades on plans. Import soils from approved off-site borrow areas and ensure a minimum of 18-inches of soil is established under all areas to receive Flexamat. Install concrete cutoff trenches and dowel into underlying rock. Install grass seed mixtures with appropriate fertilizers and mulch below Flexamat before installing Flexamat. Install Flexamat erosion control matting and secure to underlying soils and into subsurface where needed using appropriate steel pins and fasteners

Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.
Questions on the Bid Documents from general contractors and sub-contractors will be answered by the Macon, MO office of the Consulting Engineer. All questions must be submitted using the Request for Information Form (RFI) included in the specifications to Susan Copenhaver of the consulting engineer via e-mail at scopenhaver@mcclurevision.com. Any explanation or interpretation made will be in the form of a written response on the RFI form or by Addendum issued by the Consulting Engineer and furnished to all Bidders identified as plan holders of record. No requests for alternate or “equivalent” products will be considered prior to Bid Opening.
Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2026 at 10:00 AM at City Hall, City of Garnett, Kansas, 131 West 5th Street, Garnett, Kansas 66032.
