Chinatown Blueprint Project Design Services

The City of Marysville is soliciting design services for the Chinatown Blueprint Project to reinvigorate its Chinatown commercial district, with a specific focus on leveraging the Bok Kai temple as a primary attractor. The selected consultant will collaborate with the City and a Community Based Organization to develop conceptual designs and budgets for Plaza Park and a key entry intersection, provide transportation and accessibility recommendations, and create an implementation strategy featuring short- and long-term infrastructure improvements. Additional deliverables include the design of small-scale pilot programs and visual graphics of public right-of-way cross sections. The project is funded by a grant from the SACOG Engage, Empower and Implement program, with a total budget not to exceed 138,999 dollars. Proposals are due by October 30, 2026, and will be evaluated based on the firm's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated ability to meet the project scope and schedule. The City will recommend the most qualified firm that possesses the necessary professional, financial, and administrative capabilities. Submissions must include a signed original, five copies, and an electronic version on a flash drive, featuring a project understanding limited to three pages and resumes limited to two pages per person. Awardees must comply with federal, SACOG, and City standards, including Title VI non-discrimination requirements and specific security regulations under 49 CFR Part 15 and Part 1520. A formal notice to proceed will be issued upon the submission of required insurance and licenses and the establishment of a City finance job number.
