City Landscaping Services

The City of Scotts Valley is soliciting proposals for a professional services contract to provide routine landscape maintenance for city-owned facilities and 24 landscaped street medians. The scope of work includes monthly maintenance at the Scotts Valley Branch Library, Community Center, Senior Center, and Wastewater Treatment Plant, with specific duties encompassing irrigation system management, turf mowing, pruning, weed control, and debris removal. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, equipment, and materials, and must adhere to industry standards, Cal/OSHA regulations, and the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for work in public rights-of-way. The initial contract term is three years starting September 1, 2026, with an option to extend for two additional years. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov Procurement portal by September 4, 2026. The City will award the contract to the most qualified firm based on a points-based evaluation of experience and qualifications, with a preference for firms possessing municipal experience in Scotts Valley or Santa Cruz County. Selected consultants must comply with the City of Scotts Valley Standard Form Professional Services Agreement, which outlines insurance requirements and a termination clause allowing the City to end the agreement with fifteen days written notice. Payments will be made in increments no more frequently than monthly, contingent upon satisfactory performance as determined by the City.
