The contract entails the complete demolition and site reclamation of the Lloydminster Centennial Civic Centre, located at 5405 – 49 Avenue and originally commissioned in 1966. The scope involves the abatement, careful removal, storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous and contaminated materials in compliance with environmental regulations. Demolition work includes dismantling and disposing of all building elements such as concrete foundations, structures, roof systems, and any remaining components related to the ice plant, including piping and headers. Additionally, all electrical and mechanical systems along with exterior fixtures such as concrete pavements, asphalt, bollards, fences, and site furnishings will be removed and disposed of accordingly. The contract also requires removal of existing water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer services within the construction area, with the understanding that abandonment at the mains will be handled separately. The contractor will also perform clearing and grubbing as directed, with an emphasis on preserving as much vegetation, trees, and shrubs as possible. Following demolition, the site will be backfilled and compacted using Owner Supplied clay material to prepare the area for future use. The tender, issued by the City of Lloydminster, falls under a federal organization and invites bids through a solicitation process with key deadlines set for mid-2026. The contracting authority overseeing this project is Nicholas Grant, who can be contacted for further information. The overall objective of the work is to safely and efficiently remove all remnants of the Civic Centre structure and associated infrastructure while adhering to environmental and safety standards.
