The 21st Contracting Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base plans to award a sole source purchase order to Pear, LLC on or about September 19, 2014, for the reconfiguration of existing Haworth system furniture workstations located in buildings 2027 and 2028 at Peterson AFB, Colorado. Pear, LLC is uniquely qualified for this project as the only authorized and certified Haworth vendor under the Air Force Furnishings Commodity Council system furniture contracting vehicle. This exclusivity is critical because any work performed by a non-certified vendor would void the warranty on the existing Haworth products. The procurement adheres to FAR 6.302-1, which allows for sole source awards when only one responsible source exists. Additionally, while this notice represents an intent to award without competition, other responsible sources have the opportunity to submit technical capability statements within ten calendar days for consideration. The contracting activity is managed by the 21st Contracting Squadron, and the point of contact for this procurement is Stephanie Dillon, who is available via email and phone for any inquiries or submissions. The NAICS code applicable to this contract is 337214, which corresponds to office furniture manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees. A separate related contract titled "CMAFS Emergency Gas Line Repair Sole Source Intent" is also noted with NAICS code 221210 and involves performance at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, emphasizing the department’s use of sole source methods for specialized requirements.
