AI Contract Overview
The Combat Identification Automatic Target Recognition Technology (CATCH) ARA program, issued by the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, focuses on advancing technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 to TRL 7. The effort covers modeling, simulation, and analysis, as well as technology development, integration, testing, evaluation, and coordination for transition to operational use. The initiative emphasizes sensor exploitation across multiple warfighting domains, including the detection and recognition of air, ground, and surface targets. A key component is the fusion and exploitation of data from multiple sensor modalities—both active and passive—across single and multiple platforms, and the consideration of Open Mission Systems (OMS) technologies as well as third-party software integration. Under Call 02 of the solicitation, the technical areas of interest include data generation and research in combat identification (CID), the development of CID and sensor fusion software and algorithms, and system maturation to support transition efforts. The solicitation is open for responses until June 9, 2025, and seeks partners or vendors engaged in advanced R&D under NAICS code 541715 for research and development in the physical, engineering, and life sciences. The point of contact for this opportunity is Kameron Grubaugh, with Omar Eldadah listed as secondary. The place of performance will be Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, and additional details, resources, and solicitation documents are accessible through official government channels.
