Request for Information (RFI) for Site Development Partnerships at NASA Langley Research Center
Solicitation # LARC-RFI-2026_2027
The NASA Langley Research Center is issuing a Request for Information (LARC-RFI-2026/2027) to identify industry, academic, and non-federal government partners to lease and develop the NASA Langley Aerospace Innovation District (AID) Hub in Hampton, Virginia. The initiative focuses on the development of approximately 325 acres across seven parcels, with an additional 150 acres available subject to environmental and archaeological constraints. NASA seeks to establish a dynamic ecosystem for aerospace innovation, specifically targeting national priorities in hypersonics, aerospace technology development, payload processing, autonomous systems for regional air mobility, and large-scale simulation facilities for Lunar and Mars operations. Potential uses also include academic consortium gateways, renewable energy farms, and visitor housing. Partnerships may be structured through Enhanced Use Leases (EUL), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) leases, or Space Act Agreements. Selected developers will be responsible for financing, tenant recruitment, and infrastructure maintenance, while NASA retains final approval authority over subtenants to ensure mission alignment. Key dates include an initial expression of interest deadline of July 31, 2026, an Industry Day on September 22, 2026, and a final RFI closing date of June 30, 2027. This RFI is a market research effort to inform future Announcements for Proposal; therefore, no formal solicitation currently exists, and no evaluation results will be issued to respondents.
