Development of Additional Payload Processing Capability on North Wallops Island at Wallops Flight Facility

NASA's Wallops Flight Facility is conducting market research through Request for Information RFI-WFF-PayloadProcessing-2026 to gauge interest from U.S. domestic government and commercial entities in developing advanced payload processing capabilities. The project focuses on approximately 15 acres of land on North Wallops Island, Virginia, with the goal of expanding infrastructure to support high-throughput integration, testing, and processing specifically for mega-constellation missions. While NASA intends to retain ownership of the land, it may lease parcels to commercial companies for the development, operation, and maintenance of these facilities. Interested respondents must submit a PDF response of no more than ten pages using Times New Roman size 12 font by October 30, 2026. Submissions must detail the project concept, land and footprint requirements, infrastructure needs for utilities and access, operational profiles, and relevant experience in managing similar scale infrastructure. An optional Industry Day is scheduled for September 22, 2026. This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment to contract; however, the information gathered will help NASA determine if a competitive Announcement for Proposals will be issued.
