Community Broadband Network Services Work Order CBN-1 East Los Angeles

The Community Broadband Network Services Work Order CBN-1 East Los Angeles is a project managed by the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department to bridge the digital divide in underserved neighborhoods. The primary objective is the installation and management of core network infrastructure equipment on existing utility poles to provide low-cost internet access in areas where at least 20 percent of households lack subscriptions. The scope of work includes the addition of small broadband equipment and utility cabinets, as well as the installation of fiber optic cables which may require minor land alterations such as excavation, trenching, backfilling, and surface restoration. The project will be executed across eight specific locations in Los Angeles, Montebello, and the Unincorporated County of Los Angeles. These sites include 2662 Lacy Street, 1615 Mines Avenue, 4532 Floral Drive, 3645 E. Third Street, 2472 Mariondale Avenue, 3724 N. Mission Road, 3242 Fowler Street, and 5311 Fernfield Drive. Administratively, the project is designated as a Class 3 exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act, qualifying under State Section 15304(f) and County Class 4(k).
