Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU)The U.S. Department of Defense, through the Commander of the Marine Corps, is conducting market research via a Request for Information to identify Commercial Off-The-Shelf Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units capable of producing over 1,200 gallons of potable water per hour. This initiative aims to replace the legacy Tactical Water Purification System with a more reliable, supportable, and lightweight solution designed for expeditionary forces engaged in Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations. The new system must operate efficiently in saltwater environments, reduce power demands, and enhance performance to support mobile, self-sufficient units across combat, humanitarian, and disaster relief missions. The information gathered will inform future procurement strategies and requirements but will not result in any immediate award or compensation to respondents. The RFI, issued under solicitation number M67854-26-I-5331 and posted on June 23, 2026, has a response deadline of July 23, 2026. The Marine Corps anticipates a future potential procurement of up to 145 units under a five-year Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract. No set-aside is planned, and responses are sought from industry sources capable of meeting the technical and operational demands of the ROWPU. All communication regarding this RFI should be directed to Jamie Fullinwider or Stefanie Conway at the Quantico, Virginia office, with submissions handled through the designated SAM.gov portal.
