Construction of a Municipal Salt Shed

Sealed bids for the Mahanoy Township 2026 Road Improvement Project are due by 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, and must be submitted exclusively through the PennBid portal, with no alternative submission methods accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and results displayed online at the same portal, followed by review at the Township’s monthly meeting on July 16, 2026, at approximately 6:30 PM. Each bid must include a 10% bid security and remain valid for 60 calendar days. The work involves removal and replacement of storm inlets and 15” HDPE piping, milling, and a 1.5” asphalt overlay, with exact locations detailed in the project manual and exhibits. Bidders must be PennDOT Pre-qualified for Work Class F, and all materials and work must comply with the most current edition of PennDOT Publication 408. The project is partially funded by Liquid Fuels funds and is subject to Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage requirements, which must be flowed down to all subcontractors. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, issued by a surety licensed in Pennsylvania. A minimum of five years and five documented projects of relevant experience is a mandatory qualification criterion, verified through required submissions including the Experience Questionnaire and Public Works Employment Verification Form.
